R.I.P. Computer Music Special, Publication date.

Posted in krakli, music, vsti with tags , , , on September 28, 2010 by krakli

I recently had an email from the jolly nice people at Computer magazine, giving me a heads-up on part of the coverage that they plan for the R.I.P. synth that will be featured in the October freeware special, certainly they are very complimentary and if their comments are anything to go by R.I.P. should be quite a success.

Computer Music Mag. says:

“R.I.P. is a synth enthusiast’s synth, filled to the brim with proper, synthy electronic noises. It’s almost like a ‘best of’ compilation of the finest sounds to be produced by electronic machines over the last three decades… if you want great atmosphere, the sound of pure electronics and simple programming, then you need look no further than this top-notch plug-in.” Computer Music
Featured exclusively in Computer Music Special issue 44. Available from 20 October 2010 from:

Also I had promised to prepare some videos of the beefy blue beast in action and although I’ve had precious little time lately I still intend to do so prior to the magazines release, keep your eye on the Krakli Youtube channel

CM special!… what can I say?

Its quite a long way off, and I don’t see any point in getting all dressed up with nowhere to go but… here are a few spoilers.

  • It’s finished construction and already has a large number of patches.
  • It’s quite Blue.
  • It employs a similar idea to RMXL where you have two totally independent synths both with their own bend, mono-poly, arpeggio etc.
  • I have used its name once before many, many moons ago.
  • It’s architecture is a superset of an existing Krakli favorite.
  • Did I mention that it’s Blue.
  • The mag isn’t on sale until October so you have a little wait.
  • I will release more teasers and audio demos prior to that though.
  • It’s Blue.
  • It is quite a large GUI probably only usable on a 1024  x 768 screen, but most off you have them anyways don’t you?

So as is my usual way, I will be drip-feeding little bits of information about this in the coming weeks.. in the meantime lets see if  we can guess what the name of this plugin will be, if you remember I said I have used the name before, a long time ago!

CM Special Work Complete

.. which means that we can turn our attentions again to the S3 series. Himalaya was kind enough to send me this very short demo of one of the CM special presets. It makes use of one or two of the unique features that the plugin supports. Suffice to say that this plugin uses a few of the ideas from Krakli’s ill fated RMP plugin

Extasy Solo Preset

Finishing up the work on some of the S3 series.

S3K looks especially interesting as it has a full 32 stage, step sequencer built in and a filter with overdrive that can really squeal.

I am also working on another CM exclusive. I am prevented from giving too much away at the moment but it is a reworking of one of my favorite Krakli plugins. I believe that it will be available about June time..
